We own a Boarder Collie

With the masculine name of Nicky

He acts so dog gone cool

And often very tricky

He likes to be loved

But often reacts so coy

He’s a business dog

And after all, he is a boy

He runs like a deer

When he feels the urge to work

Then comes back all smiles

A show off, the little jerk

He’s not a purebred herder

But is registered AKD

What’s that?

All Kentucky Dog Don’t you see?

Our kids are grown

They have left the nest

But Nicky is here

And meets the test

What a stand in child

This creature of joy

He’s got lots of charm

He’s our Nicky boy.
